Diana Walsh, Chorus Manager
Diana Walsh, originally from Modesto, CA, is thrilled to be back in her home state after spending 10 years in Reno, NV. She is excited to join the Peninsula Girls Chorus as their new Chorus Manager, bringing her passion for music and education to this vibrant community.
Before this role, Diana was an elementary general music teacher at Glenn Duncan Elementary School, where she inspired a love for music in her students. She holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Master’s in Music Education with a Kodaly Emphasis from Holy Names University in Oakland. With six years of teaching experience, including five years in Title 1 schools, Diana has developed a knack for engaging and inspiring young minds in diverse and underserved communities.
Diana has been involved in choirs since her elementary years and continued singing throughout college, enriching her musical journey and deepening her understanding of choral music. She has held leadership positions with the Sierra Nevada Association of Kodaly Educators (SNAKE), serving as Member-at-Large and Vice-President. She is now the new President-Elect for the Northern California Association of Kodaly Educators (NCAKE).
Diana's attention to detail, her love for building rapport, and her dedication to nurturing young talents make her a perfect fit for the Peninsula Girls Chorus. She is excited to be a part of the singers' and families' journeys with PGC and can't wait to help the chorus thrive.
Monica Sayat-Garcia, Accounting
Monica has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and has been working in the field for many years. She joined the church choir when she was young and knows first hand the many benefits of it. Monica’s strong knowledge of accounting and love of music makes her a great addition to the Peninsula Girls Chorus administrative staff.
Ella, High School Intern
Ella is a senior at Aragon High School and is going into her 9th year with PGC. She started in Allegra when she was in fourth grade. Ella's favorite memory of PGC was the tour to Spain summer of 2023, getting the opportunity to work with other singers and composers, and getting to perform in Spain. When she is not singing with PGC, Ella loves to dance, choreograph, and plan dances for Aragon. She looks forward to being an intern for PGC for the 2024-2025 school year!
Maria, High School Intern
Hi! My name is Maria (she/her). I am Korean-American and 15 years old (as of June 2024). I am an artist who loves to sing and dance (I am a huge fan of BTS). I love to travel, eat different cuisines, and be with loved ones. One of my best friends describes me as “upbeat and perky”. I have been a chorister in PGC since 2019, where I started in Allegra. PGC has always been a place where I can let go of my anxiety/stress and sing with my supportive and fun peers!
Nidhi, High School Intern
Hello! My name is Nidhi. I am going into my Junior year at Carlmont High School and my third year in Ensemble. Some of my hobbies include reading, creating art, and (of course) singing. I started PGC in Brava 6 years ago, and I’m very excited to continue and become more involved. Choir has always been a place where I can meet new people, bond over shared interests and experiences, and constantly learn new music-related things!
